Blend Composition: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Zinfandel

Winemaker Notes

Both opulent and elegant, this stunning wine immediately grabs your attention, exuding luxurious aromas of ripe black cherry, blueberry, leather, lavender and cassis, with hints of gravel dust and barrel notes of vanilla, sandalwood and baking spices adding nuance and complexity. On the bold, rich palate, the flavors span the spectrum from red and blue to black fruits, with savory layers of saddle leather, sweet tobacco leaf and dried herbs mingling with notes of toasted almonds and caramelized sugar throughout a long, fascinating finish.

Production

The 2019 vintage began with a cold, wet winter followed by a cool spring, which resulted in a late budbreak. The cool, consistent weather provided abundant hangtime, ensuring ideal flavor development in the grapes. Yields for our red varieties were slightly above average, and temperate late-season weather allowed for a measured pace to harvest. Across the board, the 2019 wines are bright and balanced with smooth, elegant tannins and lush, vibrant flavors.
