Varietal Composition: 76% Cabernet Franc, 19% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes

From its perfumed aromas of violet, lilac and potpourri to its layers of raspberry, graphite, minerals and savory herbs, this is a beautifully dynamic and complex expression of Cabernet Franc. The graphite and mineral notes are echoed on the palate, where they mingle with flavors of ripe red berries, Fuji apple, pink peppercorn and cocoa, all of which coalesce in a lovely raspberry and spice finish.

Production

Heavy winter snowfall in 2019 led to well-irrigated soils and a late budbreak. The relatively cool weather continued throughout spring and summer with temperatures in the high 80s to low 90s, and only a few days over 100º F. This allowed for beautiful flavor development balanced by ideal acid retention, producing elegant and age-worthy wines with lovely energy and character, supple tannins and bright, juicy flavors.
