Situated on a narrow ridgetop at the northernmost tip of the Anderson Valley, The Narrows Vineyard is a historic mountain ranch planted with mature Pinot Noir vines. A mere 10 miles from the rugged Mendocino Coast, our low-yielding hillside vineyard is affected by strong marine influences that produce summer fog and cooler daytime temperatures. These extreme conditions provide the perfect setting for growing grapes of great intensity, resulting in a complex Pinot Noir of depth that embodies the vineyard’s wild beauty and natural intensity.

Winemaker Notes
Located in the cool, deep end of Anderson Valley, The Narrows Vineyard is nestled on a steep hillside amongst an enclave of redwoods. Steeped in its rustic surroundings, this wine captures the personality of its terroir, offering fascinating layers of wild mushroom, forest floor and conifer, as well as notes of Santa Rosa plums, baked apple and lavender. The result is an incredibly nuanced and complex wine that is both graceful and untamed.
Production
For the third year in a row, the Anderson Valley enjoyed an outstanding growing season in 2014. A dry winter was followed by a very wet early spring that ensured enough water for another successful vintage. The vines developed with excellent balance, providing compact clusters and small berries, which in turn led to excellent color, texture and flavors. Harvest began two weeks earlier than normal, with ideal weather conditions alternating between the 70s and 80s. With no threat of rain, we were able to pick all of our grapes exactly when we wished, resulting in complex and richly textured wines. Across the board, yields were lower than the two previous vintages, and quality was sky high.
