Winemaker Notes
This well-balanced, medium-weight wine offers bright acidity and a long, satisfying finish. The aroma is rich and evocative of dark cherries, nutmeg, caramelized apple, cinnamon, and clove.
On the palate, it is full of plum, spice, cherry, strawberry, and vanilla oak layers. Though delicate and understated, this wine’s compelling force of flavor, weight, and potent spice create a depth and density that cannot be missed.
Production
The harvest of 2005 was slow and steady, the result of moderate temperatures and ideal ripening conditions in the Anderson Valley. Overall quality was exceptional as we were able to harvest the Pinot Noir grapes block by block at near perfection. We believe that our small lot winemaking techniques add layers of structure to the wine, which highlight the depth and complexity of the 2005 vintage.
