Winemaker Notes
· Big, bold aromas of black currant, chocolate-covered cherries and molasses, alongside elements of forest floor, charred wood and spice
· Mouthfilling flavors echo the aromas, with additional layers of mocha, blackberry, raspberry and spice
· Firm, silky tannins create excellent length and structure
· Toasty oak adds complexity and a distinctive finish

· The 2006 growing season was marked by a very mild summer
· A mid-July heat spike accelerated ripening
· Mild temperatures throughout the fall allowed for a moderately paced harvest
· The long growing season yielded added complexity, intense flavors and excellent aroma development
